Club Med Sandpiper Bay Food

Yes, Club Med Sandpiper is all inclusive resort, actually all Club Med properties are inclusive resorts. It is the perfect resort for sport loving guests with kids of all ages. We just returned from the most amazing family vacation at Club Med Sandpiper Bay in Port St. Lucie, Florida. Sandpiper Bay is Club Med's only US destination. The all-inclusive resort is located on St Lucie River.

There is literally something for everyone in your party including fun activities like water sports, tennis, golf , play pickle ball and flying trapeze lessons, and delicious food. It is the ultimate location for a memorable vacation at a reasonable price. Club Med is geared for the type of traveler/family who likes to get out there and have fun. Don't get us wrong, the rooms are clean and comfortable- some offer two bedrooms and bathrooms- but the idea is to have a blast and enjoy the resort, not to be cooped up.

For those wishing to relax, there is an L'Occitane Spa offering numerous spa services and treatments perfect for primping and pampering. Many rooms also offer waterfront terraces, ideal for taking in the unparalleled sunrises and sunsets. Although there are only three restaurants and only two open for each meal , I can't say anything bad about the food. Because I was here for product training, my schedule was pretty full and I ate at the buffet for all of my meals. I have a problem with buffets where I can't seem to say no to anything that looks good so I tried a LOT!

There are many different stations - salad, cheeses, soups, a carving station, pizza, chinese, curry, vegetarian, burger/hot dog, italian and dessert. Each station had a different choice for lunch and dinner and there was nothing repeated during the four days that I was there. There is an adults-only room to eat in if you are without children and plenty of seating, indoor and out, for everyone. The other option for dinner is their steak and seafood restaurant, which I didn't try, and requires reservations. One other thing - if you only remember one thing about the food, remember chocolate bread.

While Port St. Lucie is located on that Atlantic coast, this is not an oceanfront resort. Instead, Club Med Sandpiper Bay is set along the Port St. Lucie River. It has a sandy beach, multiple pools, and circus-style trapeze lessons, plus a spa and a fitness center. Club Med has legit bragging rights for several family-oriented sports academies offering instruction for adults and kids in tennis, golf, swimming, and volleyball. My family and I recently enjoyed a fun visit to the 216-acre resort and were impressed by the all-inclusive venue.

There are 307 rooms located on the banks of the St. Lucie River. Club Med has a great mix of sports and activities to keep you busy, plus pools and hammocks to let you relax. The golf, tennis, beach volleyball and fitness academies attract athletes of all ages and from around the world. The spa appeared popular with locals and resort guests.

Sandpiper Bay goes above and beyond with their sports activities, largely due to having Club Med Academies located on property. Lunch and dinner were definitely the main events! Lunch is a more relaxed atmosphere with seat yourself dining like breakfast. Dinner takes things up a notch with a GO seating guests as they enter the restaurant. Cold pitchers of ice water and stemware are on tables awaiting guests for each meal.

After our third day, we realized that the meals for lunch and dinner followed a theme. One day was more Italian, another day was more Mexican, and one day was predominantly French. Even with the themes, there was something for even the pickiest eater (aka – me). The dining options are such a wide variety that anyone will be able to find something they will love. For those with a more adventurous palate, they will LOVE getting to try new foods without worry.

Guests can get as many servings as they would like – so if you want five bowls of that amazing crab and shrimp bisque then go for it! During our visit, The Marketplace was the only open restaurant, but in more "normal" times, there is a separate high-end restaurant that guests can reserve for an additional cost. Okay, if you think Utah weather is fun (snow in May?!?)… Florida weather is insane and my kids loved it. A sunny day turns into a torrential downpour, complete with hail, in a matter of seconds.

We would be out playing a family game of basketball and then running for our lives when the sky starts instantly dumping buckets… or barrels of water. Then 5 minutes later, you're good to go back out and then the whole process repeats itself, but the next time you're in the pool, or playing volleyball, or golf. My kids were pretty impressed with the newly created lakes outside our room door. As a huge Peppa Pig fan, Grace couldn't get enough of the 'muddy puddles!

' And, a lot of times we didn't even run for cover. Looking beautiful and having hair fuzz-free was the least of our interests. … I think I wore lounge or workout clothes the entire time. Not one of my 'cute outfits' made it out of the suitcase, and I was totally okay with that. The children's club seemed very popular with families and the counselors were engaging the kids with activities and games.

The infinity pool that overlooks the river is stunning and the nearby bar was popular, as well. A myriad food options are available at the Marketplace restaurant, which is buffet-style and serves delectable international cuisine. We ate at Soleil, which offers a gourmet menu and had wonderful service. The main bar and lounge, Slice, open from 10 a.m.

To 1 a.m., has large TVs, couches, tables and features complimentary beverages for all ages . But until now, I thought that a perfect family vacation where everyone was happy all the time was impossible to achieve. That was until we found Club Med Sandpiper Bay and that is why I wanted to share with you why we think that Club Med Sandpiper Bay is the perfect vacation destination for active families like mine. Serving breakfast , lunch and dinner , this centrally located restaurant is the main eating hub and where you are likely to spend most of your meals. Feel free to let the kids free range here to fill their plates with their favorite things.

Choose your table, indoors our outside on a terrace overlooking the river, then hit the buffet for a delicious selection of international foods. Breakfast has omelet stations, and all manners of hot bacon and potato dishes, as well as fish, fruit, smoothies, French pastries and more. Lunch and dinner are quite similar, with a range of American foods (burgers, pizza, etc.) and more international meats and seafood dishes and a wonderful range of fresh, European-style salads.

There's so much selection at every meal, you'll hardly to be able to try it all in a day, not to mention a week. There's usually a crepe station several times a week, which kids love, and GOs scooping out ice cream elsewhere. Moms appreciate the "Baby Corner" area, with microwaves and small plates and bowls for preparing baby meals. Sports are huge at this Club Med, so if your family is the active type, you're in heaven here. The Flying Trapeze Academy is as fun as it sounds -- an authentic chance for adults and kids to take lessons while flying along in a safe harnessed-in environment.

The resort's excellent Tennis Academy has daily or weekly programs for both juniors and adults run by skilled coaches. There are 20 courts, including illuminated ones for night play, and lessons are available to kids ages 4 and up. The resort's Fitness Academy, for those 16 and older, has a nonstop schedule of things like Zumba, Pilates, BODYPUMP and water aerobics. And the Golf Academy, held at the resort's 18-hole course, has group offerings for kids from ages 4 and up, too. There's even a Beach Volleyball Academy here with group lessons included in the all-inclusive rates.

Other included sports include basketball, Ping-Pong and bocce ball. Prepare for some exhausted kids come nighttime, in other words. SWIMMING POOLS. ClubMed Sandpiper Bay has 5 pools, and we visited ALL of them!

The lifeguard staff was very attentive and professional, which is so important to me, and we felt really taken care of. Not to mention there are tons of ways to lounge around the pool, so when we wanted a break to lay down? It's also good to note that they had lifejackets all over the place as well, which was great for my little guy who's still learning to swim.

I wish the childcare had gone through dinner time, but it was nice to at least get lunch without the kids for a couple days. The childcare is a great way to spend time with your partner at the adults only area of the resort- there's a bar next to the adult pool and hot tub too. This is the only Club Med all-inclusive resort in the USA, so easy to get to in sunny Florida! This resort is not on the beach, but rather on a wonderful river where all the watersports including waterskiing (included of course!) take place!

There are 340 rooms, including Family and Couple Deluxe rooms, 2 gourmet dining options, three swimming pools and a splash park for children. This is also where Club Med has its exceptional Tennis Academy, Golf Academy and a new fitness program. For a more relaxed time, the L'Occitane spa features the latest treatments designed to renew the senses.

Children's programs are available for ages 4 months – 17 years. The kids enjoyed the water sports The adults enjoyed lounging by the pool with cocktails. The lunch had a lot of choices and was good .

It was a bit cold earlier in the week but warmed up nicely by the end of the week. One of the other appealing things about Club Med and their "baby club Med" was that they offer childcare! We wanted to spend a lot of time with Riese and to have a lot of family fun on the trip, of course, but we also thought it would be nice to have some adult only time, too. After all that splashing we were hungry, so we dried off and went to check out The Marketplace, which is one of the restaurants on property. It's a huge buffet styled dining hall with separate themed stations. Of course there was a patisserie featuring tiny lovely tarts and desserts.

A large wine room and a drink station where you can grab soda, water, milk, juices and a beer tap rounds out the space. We had our choice of one of the indoor or outdoor dining rooms and chose to sit overlooking the sailboats while eating lunch. It would be easy for me to sit here and wax poetic about everything we loved about this vacation , but first a little bit about the actual location.

Located in Port St. Lucie, Florida, ClubMed Sandpiper Bay isn't your typical 30A vacation spot. It's actually a riverside resort, as opposed to the ocean, which was something that was surprisingly wonderful in my opinion. ClubMed Sandpiper Bay is also about a 15 minute drive to several gorgeous beaches on the Atlantic, which makes it the best of both worlds. It's a tropical paradise where you don't have to worry about cooking for yourself in a condo, or fight over which restaurant everyone wants to go to. It's a place where the activities are endless, kids and parents can have a great time, and there's actual opportunity to relax. This all-inclusive sports haven is located on the east coast of Florida, two hours north of Miami, and is home to the world-famous Club Med Academies.

Here you can enjoy a variety of entertaining activities, including Golf, Beach Volleyball, Tennis, Sailing, Kayaking, Yoga and so much more. With skilled instructors available at multiple times daily, you will be an expert before the end of your stay. I also got a lot of questions from you guys, so I wanted to create your guide to Club Med Sandpiper Bay by answering the most common questions. The area with activities near the kids camp is pretty fun. Outdoors there is a mini tennis and soccer area.

There's also a baby pool and then the big splash pad pool. The splash pad area has seating for the adults, two more little playhouse toys, and some sand. My room was near the adults only pool, which is an infinity pool, overlooking the river, and surrounded by cabanas. Closer to the pool was a row of lounge chairs.

There is also a small bar with one bartender who was always friendly, although he was working hard! The day I arrived, it was pretty busy and a bit rowdy. A security guard actually came to tell a group to turn off their music. Apparently the adults only pool is more of a quiet zone and playing music over your own speakers is not allowed. While I like to hear some music by the pool, I would prefer that it be supplied by the resort, and I appreciated that they enforced the rule.

However, the people playing the music were pretty disrespectful and made a spectacle, and after the guard left, they continued to play their music. Regardless of this incident, it was beautiful pool, and it was especially lovely at sunrise or late at night. Great entertainment and activities available for kids and adults.
